Founding and Early Years of Grace Bible Church of Tampa
Grace Bible Church of Tampa was planted in March 2006 out of a desire to establish a local
church that would be faithful to the Word of God, demonstrate the love of Christ in the
community, and clearly proclaim the gospel of Jesus Christ. From the beginning, the church has
been committed to verse-by-verse exposition of the whole counsel of God, believing that
spiritual growth and maturity flow from the faithful teaching of Scripture.
The church began with approximately twenty adults and a few children, initially meeting in an
apartment and in the living room of another founding leader. After about one month, the
congregation began renting a dance ballroom for worship services. Approximately two years
later, the church moved into an attached business office space, where it remained for roughly
twelve years. This executive center, totaling about 3,000 square feet, served as the church’s home
during a significant season of steady growth and ministry development.
Over the years, Grace Bible Church has grown from its original core group to well over 300
regular attenders on any given Sunday. The church has emphasized building lasting, shepherding
relationships with its members in order to help them live out their faith in Christ within the local
community. Alongside its commitment to discipleship, the church has been actively involved in
missions, participating in numerous mission trips and supporting gospel work beyond its local
context.
One of the distinctive ministries of Grace Bible Church is its Deaf ministry, which currently
includes approximately 30–40 Deaf members and attendees. The church also places a strong
emphasis on the next generation, with nearly 100 children under the age of 18 involved in its
various children’s programs.
By God’s grace, Grace Bible Church of Tampa has also been used to train and send out several
pastors who have gone on to plant other churches. Through every season, the church has
remained committed to its founding convictions: the supremacy of Scripture, the centrality of the
gospel, and the faithful shepherding of God’s people for the glory of Christ.
